Summer Solstice

The longest day of the year

The beginning of Summer! At our location the sun came up at 4:40 am and will set at 9:51 am. That is 17 hours and 11 minutes of sun above the horizon. History is full of traditions and special events to commemorate this day.

From my youth, pursuing and understanding the interactive movements of the earth, moon, sun and stars has been particular passion of mine. I had an almost insatiable desire to learn as much as possible about this. I believe this was instrumental in me becoming a believer early in my adult life. The word of God says that the heavens declare the glory of God.

I sometimes tease my family and friends that I’m thinking that possibly I will become a ‘Flat Earther’. That is unlikely — but I’ll never buy into the ‘Big Bang’ theory either. I believe the story of creation laid out in Genesis. To me it doesn’t matter how long it took but rather that God set it into motion. That makes this day special to me because is was ordained of God. I’m still deciding what I will do with the abundance of light today. What will you do?

Happy Father’s Day

May God abundantly bless each father with His grace today

In today’s world the role of a father is often blurred

May our Father in heaven awaken men and raise them up with the desire to establish themselves in true love and seek the wisdom to lead their families in grace and truth, setting the example within their communities.
